Performance study of a sewage treatment plant authorised to receive liquid waste.
The study covered the entire sewage system and treatment plant of a medium-sized town. After the initial phase of collecting the necessary data, performance indices were evaluated to understand the critical points of the system and thus provide the operator with a useful tool for investigation and decision-making in anticipation of future interventions. In total, more than 52 km of sewerage pipelines and a purification plant with a capacity of more than 60,000 inhabitant equivalents were examined in order to evaluate approximately 100 performance indicators covering various aspects, including performance, reagent use, costs, residue production, and acoustic and visual impact.
